Onboard the Deluxe Active P Bass Special is a duo of Fender single-coil pickups. A Vintage Split single-coil bass pickup in the neck and a dual-coil ceramic Noiseless J-style pickup with nickel-plated pole pieces in the bridge deliver the familiar Precision Bass punch and growl with more sonic options. But the Noiseless circuitry eliminates unwanted signal noise and hum, making the bass ideal for live performance and recording. The 3-band active preamp adds wide-ranging tonal control with a switch to go passive if you so choose. And the alder and maple construction with a rosewood fingerboard is a tried-and-true combination that has proven itself over decades.
