This limited-edition 12-string version of “The Workhorse” features a traditional tonewood combination for acoustic guitars: mahogany back and sides, and a Sitka spruce top. As a top tonewood, Sitka spruce offers a combination of strength and elasticity that delivers a broad dynamic range with crisp articulation that’s ideal for a wide range of playing styles — from delicate fingerpicking to aggressive flatpicked strumming. As a back and side material, mahogany exhibits a natural compression, punchy midrange bloom, and a strongly focused, earthy, and somewhat dry fundamental without a preponderance of ringing overtones.
