Description
In 1965, B.B. King’s Live at the Regal hit record shops around the United States and would become known as one of the greatest live albums ever produced. This Gibson Custom Shop ES-335 is a recreation of the unique ’59 ES-335 B.B. used during that performance, and it’s one of the finest semi-hollows ever built. Not only that, but it’s one of only 100 produced. If you’re a fan of the King of Blues and you’ve been searching for an exceptionally rare guitar that’ll keep you satisfied for years to come, look no further – the Live at the Regal ES-335 is exactly what you need.
This gorgeous guitar starts with a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body that gives it a bright, resonant voice with punchy mids and excellent articulation. While it sounds great unplugged, its Custombucker pickups take its tone to a new level when amplified. These pickups are incredibly versatile and can go from rich, thick, and syrupy to aggressive and snarling with just the turn of a knob. And thanks to its 6-position Mono Varitone switch, this guitar can blend seamlessly into any setting – rock, blues, jazz, you name it – the Live at the Regal ES-335 sounds fantastic.
Tone isn’t all this Gibson has to offer, though. Its Authentic ’59 Medium “C” shaped mahogany neck has a comfortable, vintage feel, and its Indian rosewood fingerboard plays with a wonderfully smooth response. And thanks to its Murphy Lab aged finish and hardware, the Live at the Regal ES-335 looks nearly indistinguishable from B.B.’s own guitar.
Complete with Grover Milk Bottle tuners, Gold Top Hat knobs, and numerous other period-correct appointments, the Gibson Custom Shop Live at the Regal ES-335 is perfect for avid collectors and die-hard blues musicians.
