Description
Grand Symphony with Unique Tonewoods
This Taylor 416ce LTD is a masterful combination of luthier-grade design, exquisite craftsmanship, and superior tonal quality. The rare assembly of walnut, maple, ebony, and cedar imbue the instrument with a very clear tonality that serves the Grand Symphony body’s low-end power perfectly. Along with the gorgeous tonewoods, you’ll marvel over the engraved Italian acrylic Victorian fretboard inlay and maple binding. And Taylor’s natural-sounding ES2 electronics package allows you to take your 416ce LTD to the stage without sacrificing its acoustic qualities. Sweetwater is proud to offer this exquisite instrument in our Guitar Gallery.
Limited-edition design
A wide variety of top-shelf tonewoods come together to create this beautiful limited edition Grand Symphony acoustic-electric guitar. The solid western red cedar top offers a tone that’s rich and clear, but slightly more mellow than spruce. Striking walnut and a narrow figured maple wedge complete the 416ce LTD’s sides and back, and a hard rock maple neck is capped with a smooth ebony fretboard. The guitar’s larger body produces plenty of low end, and these tonewoods add harmonics that seem to jump off of the fretboard.
Elegant ornamentation
The 416ce LTD is expertly decorated with details that display its custom pedigree, while remaining subtle enough to never be gaudy or too showy. Maple binding is used to line the guitar’s voluptuous Grand Symphony contours and adds an understated appearance to the soundhole rosette. And the engraved Italian acrylic Victorian fretboard inlays are an indication of the attention to detail this instrument is crafted with.
Grand Symphony body style gives you exceptional presence
Taylor’s beloved Grand Symphony body style, featured on the 416ce LTD, employs the width and depth of the Dreadnought. But its waist is narrower, which gives Grand Symphony-bodied acoustic guitars a warm, vocal-like midrange. The 416ce LTD’s Grand Symphony body also adds a pillow low end to the lower notes. Ultimately, from fingerpicking to medium strumming, the Grand Symphony is a great body choice for nearly every playing style.
Cutting-edge Taylor Expression System 2 electronics
If you play plugged in, then you’re going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into your 416ce LTD. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it’s positioned and how it’s integrated into the 416ce LTD’s saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls let you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need.
