You Say You Want a Revolution
By day, Armand and Bruce Schaubroeck were average Joes delivering newspapers and working at the local meat market. By night, they were plotting how they could take part in the rock revolution. As they started selling guitars out of their basement, they quickly became a destination for riff-raff to hang out. It wasn’t long before Mom had enough of the lingering smoke and loud riffing and had to kick them to the curb!
From Grange Hall to Guitar Mecca
Jumping to the present, the Schaubroeck bros made a power move by snagging the historic Grange Hall in Irondequoit, which became HOG’s sixth location. This place was the go-to spot for farmers looking for a good time, hosting everything from dances to meetings. It was the perfect spot for the House of Guitars to call home sweet home – and they’ve been there ever since.
Guitars and Beatles Galore
The House of Guitars didn’t just stumble into the music scene – they staked their claim early on. When the Beatles made their American debut, the Schaubroeck brothers were already one step ahead, stocking the exact instruments played by the Fab Four.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Wonderland
Fast forward to today, and the House of Guitars is a rock ‘n’ roll paradise. Imagine multiple levels packed with new, vintage, and used guitars, along with drums, keyboards, and an in-house repair shop. Dive into the back rooms for a treasure trove of musical goodies and walls adorned with rock ‘n’ roll history.
