A High-performance, Next-gen Offset Bass

Looking to stand out from the crowd with a healthy dose of 21st-century style? Fender’s Player Plus Active Meteora bass is a fresh new addition to Fender’s industry-defining arsenal of low-end power! This decidedly modern take on Fender’s classic bass formula boasts two powerful humbucking Fireball pickups, a duo producing an aggressive, punchy tone that fits right in with the Active Meteora’s contemporary edge. A 3-band EQ and switchable passive/active electronics deliver advanced tone shaping, with the ability to capture both vintage tones and explore new sonic ground. What’s more, the Active Meteora has been fully decked out with modern, playability-enhancing features, including rolled fingerboard edges, a modern “C” shape neck, and medium-jumbo frets in a 12-inch radius for an exceptionally comfortable playing experience.

An offset bass for the 21st century

Fender unveiled the Meteora in 2018, and with the Player Plus Active Meteora bass, the company has made its first foray into the world of 4-string thump. Like its offset siblings, the Meteora body shape is supremely comfortable to play sitting down, but the swooping double-cut design also offers excellent balance when playing on the stage. As much as we respect the venerated guitars and basses of the past here, we love the Meteora for being a bold declaration by Fender that they’re dedicated to respecting the past…and reshaping the future!

Active/passive electronics offer sonic flexibility

Gigging bassists need access to a variety of tones at a moment’s notice. The Player Plus Active Meteora Bass boasts both an active 3-band EQ and switchable active/passive electronics, giving you access to everything from warm, thuddy grooves to punchy riffs. A pair of humbucking Fireball bass pickups power the Player Plus Active Meteora bass to deliver classic Fender bass tones, but with an aggressive twist that matches the Meteora’s modern edge.

A bass neck that’s built for performance

The Player Plus Active Meteora’s neck is loaded with upgrades to meet the needs of even the most demanding of bass players. The first thing you’ll notice when you pick up the Active Meteora bass is the comfortable modern “C” neck shape, sporting rolled edges for a smooth playing experience when sliding up and down the fingerboard. Plus, Fender has fully modernized this bass’ neck with a 12-inch fingerboard radius and medium-jumbo frets that make playing higher up on the neck a breeze.
