PRS debuted the CE 24 to critical acclaim, merging the Custom 24 series’ elegant tonewoods and iconic aesthetics with a snappy bolted-on neck. This limited-edition SE Sandblasted CE 24 expands the sonic palette of its standard-production predecessor, remixing its tonewood quartet by replacing a maple top with swamp ash alongside the series-standard mahogany-maple-rosewood trifecta. Its Wide Thin neck and 10-inch fingerboard radius are the ideal sandbox for exploring its 24-fret array. Meanwhile, guitarists have discovered worlds of tone crafting afforded by the onboard pair of 85/15 “S” humbuckers and their rich character and dynamics. Outfitted with a PRS Patented Tremolo and onboard coil-split capabilities, there’s virtually no limit to summiting the furthest reaches of expressive potential.

A swamp ash spin on time-tested tone

For the SE Sandblasted CE 24, PRS reimagines the foundational formula of this axe to feature a swamp ash top for its mahogany body. As this guitar’s aural anchor, mahogany is a powerful cornerstone — a tonewood renowned for its rich harmonics, full-spectrum heft, and a sonorous midrange that won’t sacrifice definition for presence. Its maple neck imparts warmth and brightness on every register, with excellent note separation that ensures everything from clean chords and ripping riffs to lightning licks and soaring solos are voiced with precision. Up top, the rosewood fingerboard wraps your sound in a crystalline veneer, conjuring shimmering sonics that tame cloying highs and augment lows, remaining transparent and clear throughout.

This SE Sandblasted CE 24 is loaded with Paul Reed Smith-designed 85/15 “S” humbucking pickups. An update on PRS’s original humbuckers, the 85/15 “S”s are designed to sound terrific whether used in humbucking or single-coil modes. Guitarists have discovered they offer plenty of output for driving your amp hard while sounding clear and detailed when you want. These humbuckers closely resemble the tones of the US-made versions found in the solidbody electric guitars, and the onboard push-pull expands your tone-crafting capabilities with multitudes of coil-splitting possibilities.
